SPSS Mean

SPSS means “Statistical Package for the Social Sciences”. The program was released by SPSS Inc at 1968 year and IBM bought it in 2009 year. Latest version is SPSS 20. Social Sciences and Education Sciences are fields that SPSS is used mostly. This program is used in Healthy Sciences, too.

How Does Use SPSS?

Interface of SPSS is English, so program is difficult for people who do not know English. But, user memorize where he/she click while doing any action after use program a bit time, no longer English language problem is removed.

The biggest problem for people who want to use program but cannot use is studying to analyze without learning program. For example, a user wanting to do Independent Samples T test write terms like “how to do spss independent samples t test” to Google or YouTube and the user do analysis by watching videos or reading texts. In another time, user need to do One Way Variance Analysis and do analysis with the same logic. This user can not learn program. When user need to do analysis any time, works to solve problem same method.

There are two main ways to learn SPSS program. One of them is finding a book, which tells how to use program, and follow this book. If you want to think buy a book, you should download SPSS version, which the book’s SPSS version, to follow book effectively. There are a lot of terminologies in books. You should not work to understand these terminologies, in other words, you should look at usage parts of program.  Second way is getting a private education to learn SPSS. There are publishing houses giving private education. Besides, you can get education via online education web sites. Education’ content should be same as a course format, this is most important point for private education. For example, there are a lot of education videos on YouTube, but these videos do not tells SPSS step by step, hardly. After getting a main education, these videos will be useful. For example, you got main education and learnt main analysis. Later, you heard named MANOVA and you need to do it. Then, looing videos for this analysis will be useful.

The most important point to use SPSS well is to learn data entry logic and enter 100-150 data.
